The dental lab uses the design and impression to fabricate a set of custom veneers, which they send to the dentist. On receiving the veneers, the dentist will call their patient and set up an appointment.

During the second procedure, the dentist will remove the temporary restorations and clean the teeth. They will attach the veneers with dental bonding and use a curing light to harden the bonding. Lastly, the dentist will put finishing touches on the veneers — a process that involves smoothing, polishing and other minor adjustments

Some dentists have the skill and equipment to fabricate dental veneers in-office. In such a scenario, the whole process takes place in a single dental visit. Does this process apply to only the top teeth or does it cover the bottom teeth, as well?

The long and short of it is: yes. Veneers can improve the look of all front-facing teeth. This means incisors, canines and in rare cases, premolars. A dentist will place veneers on visible teeth that only experience limited stress due to biting and chewing.

If a patient has gaps on their lower dental arch, a dentist will use veneers to increase the size of the lower teeth, effectively closing the gaps. The dentist will also use veneers to cover chipped or crooked teeth on the lower arch. They will add veneers to bottom teeth when they need to create a bright, proportional smile that matches the upper teeth.
